Position Overview: Provides support to Head Cook & Second Cook, assisting with all food preparation, serving, and cleaning.

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

  1. Washing of all dishes, implements, and surfaces in kitchen & serving areas.
  2. Assist with food preparation and serving as necessary.
  3. Serve daily meals to students in accordance with USDA standards.
  4. Review and follow all standard operating procedures based on HACCP guidelines.
  5. Other duties as directed.

 Other Job Functions:

 

  1. Carry out all tasks assigned by Head Cook.

 Qualifications:

 Knowledge of:

 

  1. Food preparation in large quantities.
  2. HACCP sanitary guidelines.

 Ability to:

 

  1. Maintain good healthy relationship with students
  2. Work harmoniously and tactfully with fellow employees.
  3. Maintain standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
  4. Maintain regular attendance.
  5. Present neat and clean appearance.

 Experience:

 

  1. Prior experience in kitchen operations preferred

 License:

 

  1. Food Handlers Card

 Physical Requirements:

 

In an eight-hour day, employee may

  1. Stand/Walk 5-6 Hours
  2. Drive 1-2 Hours
  3. Sit 3-4 Hours
  4. Stoop/Squat/Bend 1-2 Hours
  5. Lift/Carry 1-2 Hours      Up to a weight of     50 lbs
  6. Climb Stairs Occasionally
  7. Use hands for repetitive motions Frequently
  8. Use feet for repetitive movements Frequently
