Positions require:
• All coaches are required to have a Type 10 or Type 20 drivers’ certificate unless a medical condition prevents their ability to obtain.
• Interscholastic Coaching Course or previous ASEP/NFHS Certification
• Background/criminal history clearance
• Concussion Management Certification
• Anabolic Steroid Certification
• First Aid card
• Interrupting and Preventing Discriminatory Acts Training
• OSAA Heat Illness prevention Areas of Responsibility:
• Assist at all practices and games.
• Assist in managing game operations.
• Cooperate and collaborate with other coaching staff to establish and implement the shared program philosophy, skills and techniques to be taught.
• Cooperates and communicates respectfully to various stakeholders (parents, school district staff, media, etc.)
• Supervise bus trips, locker room and training facilities as well as athlete behavior.
• Maintain sportsmanship and respect toward other teams, coaches, bus drivers and community members.
• Assists in keeping an accurate record of equipment and uniform inventory as well as reporting equipment that is in need of repair or replacement.
• Developing relationships with community members and sponsors.
• Cooperates in helping the booster club and other organizations that support the success of the athletics department.
• Follows all school district policies and procedures.
• Understands and follows rules and regulations set forth by all governing agencies: NFHS, OSAA, Coquille School District and league SOPs.
• Participates in training and other activities deemed mandatory by the school district to improve coaching performance and enhance student performance, health and safety.
• Attends athletic department meetings when required |
